Dr. Xin Yu
Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry Jena

Xin is a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry (MPI-BGC) in Jena, Germany. He received his PhD in 2025 from the MPI-BGC and the University of Innsbruck. He is broadly interested in understanding ecosystem carbon and water cycles by using observations and machine learning. In particular, his current work focuses on: 1) understanding the legacy effects of climate extremes on carbon and water cycles; 2) upscaling in-situ observations to the global scale using machine learning.
