ELLIS PhD candidate* at the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry Jena and and the University of Tübingen
Sebastian is an ELLIS PhD student at Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry Jena and the University of Tübingen under the supervision of Markus Reichstein and Georg Martius. His research focuses on large-scale, multi-modal representation learning for Earth observations. As part of the WeatherGenerator project, he is developing a novel land surface foundation model for Earth’s land surface. His interests include self-supervised learning, neural compression, domain adaptation, and Earth system modeling.
