PhD candidate and researcher at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Institute of Data Science, Jena and in the Computer Vision Group, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Friedrich Schiller University Jena

Ferdinand Rewicki is a PhD candidate and researcher at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Institute of Data Science, and Friedrich Schiller University Jena, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Joachim Denzler. With a background in Computer Science, he completed his master’s degree in Computational and Data Science at FSU Jena.
His doctoral research focuses on time series mining, specifically on unsupervised methods for the discovery and attribution of recurring anomalous behavior and its precursors in telemetry data from complex and interconnected systems. His main application area is bio-regenerative life support systems for long-term space missions, which are researched and developed by DLR, ESA, and international partners.
His interdisciplinary work combines machine learning, data mining, time series analytics, ecology, and space engineering.
