Tristan is a PhD candidate at Carl Zeiss AG and in the Computer Vision Group at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, led by Prof. Dr. Joachim Denzler. His research focuses on advancing vision foundation models for specialized image domains, including medical imaging, life sciences, and semiconductor industry applications. In particular, he investigates how these models can be adapted to multiple segmentation tasks without expensive and data-intensive retraining, but through prompting with text or examples. His work also addresses domain shifts between pre-training and deployment to enable robust and flexible image analysis solutions.
